Three years after Yemisi Edun appointment as the first female Managing Director at First City Monument Bank (FCMB) blanket out the amoral missteps of her predecessor, Adam Nuhu she has appears virtually out of public glare.
It was gathered that she has come nowhere near the exposure she received with her naming as the Managing Director of FCMB – following the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) – on May 1, 2021, according to SocietyNow.Ng.
Further findings showed that her public posture since she took office is intentional.
“It is a part of the institutional profile of not just FCMB as bank but the holding company under which it operates FCMB Group,” said a source.
The Group retains the conventional approach of posturing company above all else.
“Edun’s stance is in line with this position and as the lead person at Bank, she has embraced style to the letter,” source familiar with the happenings within quoted.
Further digs revealed that it has also helped the holder of a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife and a Master’s degree in International Accounting and Finance from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom that she has not been a “public person” before she assumed her present position.
It was also learned that it has also contributed to her “fate” that FCMB Group is headed by the extremely publicity shy but very goal oriented, Ladi Balogun.
“It also goes without saying that Ladi Balogun’s personae has also tremendously rubbed off on all other persons across divisions,” the source said.
