Woman Accuses Brother-in-Law of Kidnapping Husband, Selling His Properties
- Reveals Suspicious Circumstances and Alleged Attacks
“My brother-in-law is yet to bring my husband back despite selling his properties to raise funds. He has also refused to disclose any details about his negotiations with the kidnappers”
Mrs. Temitayo Mosaku, a businesswoman based in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, has accused her brother-in-law, Mr. Nurudeen Sayid Mosaku, of kidnapping her husband, Abiodun Waheed Mosaku, and making multiple attempts to take her life.
In an exclusive interview with NewsHeadline247, Mrs. Mosaku narrated a harrowing series of events, alleging that Mr. Nurudeen claimed her husband had been abducted and that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of fifty million naira (N50,000,000) for his release, an amount she said they cannot afford. She further stated that her brother-in-law sold her husband’s properties to raise a mere twenty million naira (N20,000,000), yet her husband’s whereabouts remain unknown as of the time of filing this report.
“My brother-in-law is yet to bring my husband back despite selling his properties to raise funds. He has also refused to disclose any details about his negotiations with the kidnappers,” Mrs. Mosaku said.
Suspicious Circumstances and Alleged Attacks
Two weeks after her husband’s alleged abduction and the sale of his properties, Mrs. Mosaku claimed that Mr. Nurudeen orchestrated an attack on her. According to her, disguised as armed robbers, the supposed kidnappers invaded her shop, stole valuables, and assaulted her so severely that she lost her pregnancy.
“The attackers beat me mercilessly and dragged me on the floor, causing me to lose my pregnancy. I fainted in a pool of my own blood before neighbors came to my rescue and took me to the hospital,” she recounted.
She further alleged that these attackers, who she believes were sent by her brother-in-law, continued to target her, her son, and her two sisters. Tragically, she stated that her younger brother was shot and killed by these same individuals while attempting to protect her.
How It All Began
Mrs. Mosaku described her husband, Abiodun Waheed Mosaku, as a businessman who traded in dry fruits, including walnuts, cashew nuts, tiger nuts, and dates. He sourced supplies from the northern and eastern regions of Nigeria, with business trips often lasting from a few days to over a week.
“On one particular trip, my husband did not return for two weeks. I was worried and helpless because I couldn’t reach him. That was when his elder brother, Nurudeen, informed us that he had been kidnapped, with a ransom demand of fifty million naira,” she explained.
Feeling desperate, Mrs. Mosaku said her brother-in-law took it upon himself to handle the negotiations. He sold an unfinished building and other assets belonging to her husband to raise twenty million naira. However, she never had direct contact with the kidnappers, as Mr. Nurudeen was the only one communicating with them.
Repeated Attacks and Devastating Losses
Mrs. Mosaku stated that after the alleged kidnapping, a series of violent attacks followed. She recalled that the same gang returned multiple times to assault her and her family. These attacks forced her, her son, and her sisters to seek accomodation in churches, yet the assailants continued to pursue them.
In 2019, her younger brother, who did not live with her, visited, only to be fatally shot by the attackers while trying to defend her. The tragic loss sent her into emotional distress, requiring therapy at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
“It was during this period that I realized my brother-in-law had been orchestrating these attacks. He always knew our next location, from Abeokuta to Ibadan and beyond. It became evident he was planning to eliminate me and my son,” she alleged.
Seeking Justice
Mrs. Mosaku emphasized that despite these horrifying experiences, she has continued to seek justice. She claims to have filed a police report. However, she insists that her husband’s fate remains uncertain and fears for her own safety and that of her child.
She is calling on authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure justice is served.
