Nigerian superstar sensational songstress, Tiwa Savage has said she will not be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious festival in Johannesburg following recent brutal attacks on Nigerians and other foreign nationals in South Africa.
In reaction to the protracted killings of Nigerians and other foreign nationals in South Africa, Savage who said she refused to watch ‘butchering’ of her people in South Africa added that “killing any one that is African are my people whether they are Nigerians or not.”
The DSTV delicious festival holding in Johannesburg is slated for 21st of September 2019.
The xenophobic attack resumed on Sunday and three people were reportedly killed in the process of the bloody violence.
The President of the Nigeria Union South Africa (NUSA), Adetola Olubajo, had on Monday confirmed the attacks, saying it began on Sunday morning in Jeppestown area of Johannesburg when a building was set ablaze by an angry mob.
Tiwa Savage, while expressing her unhappiness over the cruel attacks on Nigerians and other nationals in South Africa, wrote on her official Instagram page; “I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is SICK. For this reason I WILL NOT be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious festival in Johannesburg on 21st of September.
“My prayers are with the victims and families affected by this.
“Killing any one that is African are my people whether they are Nigerians or not”

Savage noted that the ongoing series of attacks against foreign nationals in South Africa is a ‘serious issue were NO ONE wins when blood is shed.’
“But yet I was booked to perform at the festival. This is a serious issue were NO ONE wins when blood is shed whether old video or not. Issue needs to be resolved. We Africans (including South Africans) need each other,” she posted on her Instagram handle.
