His imperial majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja ll, in partnership with Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) in the South-West Region, Nigeria is set to host an Under-17 and Under-18 football tourneys for Boys and Girls respectively.

Ogun State YSFON Chairman Alhaji Waheed Adeoye Lawal who disclosed this revealed that the preliminaries and State playoffs are slated to be held between March 29th and April 12th,2021 after which the two qualifiers from each State would converge at the Ilaji hotels and Resorts centre, Ilaji village, Ona Ara Local Government Area in Ibadan, the Oyo  State capital for the finals.

Lawal said, “We have said a lot of things would change in YSFON,some of the changes would be physical some embedded_the embedded changes can’t be seen but the physical changes would be as a resultant effect of the embedded”.

He stated further that there would be a lot more football competitions for the Youth after the Oduduwa Cup.

“There will be Ilaji Cup,to be hosted by Ilaji hotels and resorts Proprietor, there is Ajide Under-18 Cup sponsored by the Chairman of Surulere Local Government, Lagos, Hon. Tajudeen Ajide and also in Ogun State, we have inculcated the Annual Agunragbaja’s Cup into YSFON programs’.

“So, by the time all these competitions are completed, the year has run out already”. Lawal said.

He added that with pomp and peagentry that would accomplish the hosting of the Oduduwa’s Cup, he believes some more first Class traditional rulers and Philanthropists would emulate the Yoruba foremost Monarch

Meanwhile, the team representing Ogun State at the Annual Ramat Youth Cup in Kano State is on its way to the City of Kano.

The Chairman of the team who is also the Vice-Chairman of Ogun State YSFON, former Ogun State house of Assembly Committee Chairman on Youth and Sports, Hon. Wilfred Allen Taylor disclosed that the team’s preparation this year has been more thorough that before and that is necessitated by Ogun YSFON’s adoption of team.

He promised football lovers and the teeming supporters of the team that they will surpass the quarter-final stage they reached in the last edition.
