Popular Nigerian singer and actor, Olubankole Wellington also known as Banky W has dumped the Modern Democratic Party under which he contested for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2019 election and lost.
The artiste has now joined major opposition party – Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to actualize his National Assembly dream come 2023.
Banky who also doubles as an actor will be contesting for a chance to represent Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.
Explaining the reason he joined the PDP, Banky W said he was no longer contented with standing by the sidelines but “must get into the system to fix it”.

“I would like to announce that I will once again be answering the call to serve by attempting to secure a ticket to represent Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” announced Banky W in a broadcast posted on his Twitter page.
The singer emphasised on the need to infiltrate major existing political parties such as the PDP to build a better Nigeria for all citizens.
