Dele Momodu, a chieftain and spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Campaign council, PPC, has said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi will never win the forthcoming presidential election.

Obi is one of the candidates of the presidential election, with Bola Tinubu representing the All Progressives Congress, APC and Atiku Abubakar standing in for the PDP.

Momodu was specifically responding to a poll result released on Friday which rated the LP candidate as having 95 percent chance of winning the election.

Appearing on Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Monday, Momodu said Obi cannot win in the Northern part of the country.

“In the South West, I can tell you that three people are going to share Lagos votes Tinubu, Peter Obi and Atiku. There’s nothing to argue about it this time.

“The three will get their 25 percent then I don’t know who takes the lead and that’s all that we [the PDP] need…so whenever you have two Southern candidates, it’s going to be difficult and you can see that Obi is eating into the Southern votes.

“It would be a fantasy of the highest order for anybody to say Obi will win most parts of the North. It’s impossible. I’m not a gambler.

“I would have put a bet on it but I’m telling you that it’s impossible. You see, polls are today based on the theory of who is likely to vote and of course it depends largely on technology…polls that said Obi will win the North are faulty polls.

“Obi cannot win the election. There’s no question about it.”
