A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has barred Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary slated for Thursday, June 25.

Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, one of PDP governorship aspirants, filed the suit on Monday after vowing not to step down for Obaseki, who dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after he was disqualified over education certificate issues.

The presiding judged, Hon. Justice E.A Obile, who granted the order, allowed the defendant to serve the parties through substituted means in two national dailies and adjourned till June 24 for hearing of the summon.
