Alhaja Akniboyede was a teacher of repute in the service of Ogun State Government for 35 years before she retired at the turn of the millennium in the year 2000.
The families of the late Princess Alhaja Soburat Olatorere Akinboyede- née Deinde on Monday announced the final burial ceremony of the late Awori matriarch who died on the 26th and was buried the following day according to Islamic rites.
The family, in a statement made available to the media, announced the 4th of September, 2021 as the date to celebrate the life of their late “golden mother.”
According to the family, the farewell ceremony of ‘Mama College’, as Alhaja Akinboyede was fondly called during her lifetime, will take place at the premises of Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar School, Otta, Ogun State.
Alhaja Akinboyede died peacefully on the 26th of July at the age of 79.
The late popular school teacher got married in 1957 to her loving husband, late Alhaji Barrister Abubakar Adio Akinboyede, a noble core Awori personality with a record as the first lawyer from Otta to be called to the Bar in 1970.
Alhaja Akniboyede was a teacher of repute in the service of Ogun State Government for 35 years before she retired at the turn of the millennium in the year 2000.
She was a devoted Muslim who was roundly known with the foremost and revered Islamic group – the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria. As a member of note with the society, Madam Akinboyede held viable positions as a national, state and local branch executive member.
The Princess who married a Prince was also decorated with countless traditional titles including Yeye Bobagunwa of Kooko Ebiye, Yeye Aafin of Tetiku Owode and Yeye Oba of Oruba among others.
She leaves behind successful children, who are Princess Titilayo Rashidat Kehinde, a retired teacher, Prince Akingbolaga Akinboyede, a medical executive in the United States, and Prince Ayokunle Akinboyede, an engineer and builder based in Abuja, the federal capital territory.
Others are Prince Akinsewa Akinboyede architect, Princess Eniola Fatimah Sobande, a teacher, and Barrister Abiodun Akinboyede, a philanthropist and a grassroots politician in Ogun State. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
