NJC recommends Kekere-Ekun for appointment as CJN…, to promote 28 others as Judges
The National Judicial Council (NJC) has nominated Justice Kudirat Motonmori Kekere-Ekun for appointment as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This recommendation was made during the NJC’s 106th meeting, chaired by the current CJN, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, on August 14 and 15.
Justice Ariwoola is expected to officially step down on August 22 as previously reported.
In addition to Justice Kekere-Ekun’s nomination, the NJC has recommended 28 candidates for various judicial appointments. These appointments include judges for state courts and a Kadi for the Sharia Court of the FCT, Abuja.
