“We produce products which give people enjoyment, essentially we make people happy. We have decided to spread that happiness to TRACE”
The management of International Distilleries Limited donated road traffic control materials to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, in Ota.
Representing the IDL management, the Head of Operations, Chief Adesina Adegoke, stated that the company donated big and safety medium cones, safety fence, and No Parking reserved sand/water fillable barricades.
Adegoke mentioned that the donation was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
He also commended TRACE for ensuring traffic safety on Ogun State roads, especially in areas leading to the company’s factory along Idiroko Road. Adegoke expressed appreciation for the dutiful performance of TRACE personnel, even during difficult times, which prompted the company to offer support by providing road traffic control materials to them. He said, “We produce products which give people enjoyment, essentially we make people happy. We have decided to spread that happiness to TRACE.
“We know the difficult job TRACE is doing, we want to make that job easier by support you with road traffic control materials. This is part of our company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
“We are here to appreciate you and we say welldone. We believe the tools will be useful and support your activities, and we hope to do more to make our roads safe.”
Responding, the Area Commander, Ogun West, Cdr. Ajibade Adekunle appreciated the IDL management for the gesture, adding that it was not the first time the company would be doing this.
While equally commending the company for the management’s concern for safety, Cdr Ajibade noted that “there are other companies bigger than yours that are yet to do anything.”
He promised that the road traffic control materials would be deployed into good use, urging like Oliver Twist that TRACE would still need more of such support so as to reach all the commands in the state.
He said, “We need more of these sorts of road traffic control materials, so that it could go round.I know it is very expensive.
“We appreciate the company for your concerns for safety, there are other companies bigger than yours that are yet to do anything, we appreciate you.”
Similarly, the Ota Divisional Commander, Olaoke Victoria, expressed appreciation for IDL’s kind gesture. However, she noted that they would be even happier if the visiting company could consistently train their drivers to adhere to traffic rules while on the roads. More
