Abuja, Nigeria – April 12, 2025
Starting Tuesday, April 22, 2025, the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria has announced updated requirements for visa applicants processing their applications in Abuja and Lagos.
According to an official statement, all applicants must present a DS-160 visa application form with a confirmation/barcode number (beginning with “AA” followed by two zeros) that matches the number used to schedule their online appointment.
The statement further explained that applicants are required to book their visa interview appointments at the same location—either Abuja or Lagos—selected when completing their DS-160 form.
This change aims to streamline the application process and ensure consistency in documentation.
Visa applicants are advised to verify their DS-160 confirmation details and appointment locations ahead of their scheduled interviews to avoid delays.
For further information, applicants are urged to visit the official U.S. Embassy website or contact the visa processing centers in Abuja and Lagos.
