PDP Structure Collapses into APC as LG Chair, Wasiu Lawal Hails “Historic Homecoming” in Ado-Odo/Ota
The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, on Friday, warmly welcomed a large group of former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members back into the APC, describing the move as a “historic homecoming” and a symbol of political unity.
The reunion event, held in the local government area, had the feel of a family gathering, as key political figures and supporters across various wards of Ado-Odo/Ota announced their return to the APC. The mood was jubilant, with chants, applause, and declarations of loyalty echoing through the venue.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Hon. Rotimi Muiz Ojugbele announced the full collapse of the PDP structure under Dr. Rotimi Ramon (ARUGBO) into the APC.
“We are proud to return to where we belong,” Ojugbele said. “The entire PDP structure under the leadership of Dr. Rotimi Ramon across Ado-Odo/Ota has now been fully integrated into the APC. We are ready to re-engage at the grassroots level and give our total commitment to the party’s goals.”
In his remarks, Hon. Lawal expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Ramon for what he described as a courageous and progressive move.
“I sincerely thank Dr. Rotimi Ramon for his bold leadership in dissolving his structure into the APC,” Hon. Lawal stated. “This development marks a new chapter of strength, inclusiveness, and readiness as we march toward future electoral victories.”
He called on the returning members to align with the transformative vision of Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, and Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, FNSE, while also throwing support behind APC’s next gubernatorial candidate.
“Let us join hands to ensure the continued progress of Ogun State,” Hon. Lawal added. “Like our neighbours in Lagos, we must pursue a legacy of sustainable development and good governance.”
He concluded by urging all APC members—new and old—to embrace peace, unity, and collaboration, emphasizing that these values are key to consolidating the party’s strength and delivering effective leadership at all levels.
The defection marks a significant shift in Ado-Odo/Ota’s political landscape, positioning the APC for stronger grassroots dominance as the state prepares for upcoming electoral contests. Read More
