PM News Apologises to Gbenga Daniel Over False APC Suspension Story

Lagos, Nigeria – September 7, 2025

PM News has issued a formal public apology to former Ogun State governor and serving senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, over what it described as a false and misleading publication about his alleged suspension from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the management, a thorough review revealed that the reasons earlier advanced for Daniel’s alleged suspension from the ruling party were unfounded. The organisation confirmed that the story had since been pulled down from its platform.

“We can assure you that no malice was intended,” the letter signed by the PM News Editor on behalf of the management read in part. “We regret any embarrassment the said publication may have caused you and do tender our unreserved apology.”

PM News further clarified that the controversial story was published in error and reaffirmed its commitment to ethical and responsible journalism.

Daniel, who governed Ogun State between 2003 and 2011, remains one of the most influential voices in the South-West APC bloc and a respected figure in Nigerian politics. Read More
