Again, Gbenga Daniel Rallies Support for Tinubu in Ogun, Unveils Major Development Plans at Midterm Tour
Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, FNSE, FAEng, has restated his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while unveiling transformative proposals for Ogun East at the Midterm Community Assessment and Review Tour of the BATOGD Movement held in Ijebu North East.
Addressing stakeholders and residents at the Equity Resort, Daniel said the gathering reflected his commitment to people-focused, transparent, and accountable governance. He noted that earlier tours across Ogun East had already showcased completed constituency projects impacting communities.
“Our support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains unwavering. The BATOGD Movement is a testament to this commitment. The President’s bold leadership, particularly tough decisions like fuel subsidy removal, is redirecting our economy and bringing more funds for grassroots development,” Daniel declared.
The Senator stressed that while he facilitates federal projects for his constituency, execution lies with federal and state agencies. He called for cooperation rather than hostility from the Ogun State Government, warning against petty politics that could short-change the people.
Citing the Paddy Arikawe Road in Sagamu as an example, Daniel explained how federal intervention only came after years of neglect. He urged the state government to encourage rather than frustrate such development efforts.
Senator Daniel highlighted President Tinubu’s recent approval for the Federal Government to take over Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) as a major achievement. However, he pointed out the landmass limitation of the main Ijagun campus and revealed a proposal to establish four satellite campuses within a 30km radius, which including the Skill Acquisition Mini-Campus at Okelugbogun, Conversion of GIPI Oil Engineering Services in Oni Waterside to a campus, Artificial Intelligence & Innovation Mini-Campus at Illishan/Odogbolu, Health Sciences Mini-Campus at Ijebu-Ode

He emphasized that the proposal also honours the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose family roots are in Ijebu North East.
The former Ogun State Governor issued a passionate appeal to the state government to rehabilitate eleven critical roads across Ijebu North East, describing them as lifelines for farmers, traders, and students.
“These roads are central to our economic and social wellbeing. Their rehabilitation will ease movement, boost commerce, and restore hope to our people,” Daniel said.
He listed priority roads including Atan–Odosimadegun–Etiobu axis, Ogidi Junction–Imomo route, Ogbogbo–Iworo–Ibadanijebu road, and other key networks spanning over 80km.
Senator Daniel concluded by urging stakeholders to focus on governance and development, assuring constituents that his mandate was to serve their interests.
“For now, let us focus our energy on governance and development. That is our shared mandate, and that is how we will truly serve our people,” he affirmed. Read More
