Tinubu Vows to Defeat Terrorism…, Restore Peace Across Nigeria…, Reassures Global Partners

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to defeating terrorism and restoring lasting peace across Nigeria.

The President gave the assurance on Thursday at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, shortly before presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting and moments after swearing in two new ministers to join his cabinet.

Tinubu’s statement comes amid renewed international attention on Nigeria’s security landscape, following the recent designation of the country as a “Country of Particular Concern (CPC)” by United States President Donald Trump and threats of potential military action under the guise of protecting religious freedom.

Despite these tensions, President Tinubu maintained a confident and diplomatic tone, stressing that his government remains focused on securing the nation and fostering international cooperation.

“The most important thing is the fact that despite the political headwind and the fear of our people, we’ll continue to engage with our partners,” Tinubu said.
“The success of the $2.35 billion Eurobond oversubscription is the most reassuring signal at this stage.”

The President reiterated that his administration is fully committed to engaging global partners constructively while strengthening internal security structures to end terrorism and violent extremism.

“The task ahead is immense. We are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all of you that we will defeat terrorism in this country,” he declared.
“It is our resolve to move forward with unity and purpose, guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda to build a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Nigeria.”

Tinubu’s reaffirmation of Nigeria’s anti-terrorism stance comes as part of his broader Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises national security, economic growth, and international collaboration to reinforce confidence in Nigeria’s stability and global standing.
