The ancient city of Abeokuta stood still on Thursday as Adorable Sisters for Yayi, a formidable statewide women’s movement led by U.S.-based founder Chief (Mrs) Ramat Ashabi Sodolamu, held a grand public declaration of support for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship race.
The spectacular event, which took place at the magnificent ONTEC Event Hall on Abiola Way, drew hundreds of elegantly dressed women, all clad in a vibrant, uniform orange Ankara. Their thunderous chants — “Adorable Sisters for Yayi!” “Love and Unity!” “Yayi Ni Joo!” “Yayi Ni Jare!” — reverberated through the hall, electrifying the atmosphere.
Dignitaries, including top political actors and close associates of Senator Adeola, graced the event. Among them were Chief Eruobodo, APC leader of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Hon. Sherif Alani, Director of Administration Caucus 7202, and others.
In a resounding show of unity, the group declared that their mission was to rally behind a leader who has “transformed the political and socioeconomic landscape of Ogun West” and extended impactful representation across the state.
“Ogun State has not been blessed with a politician like Yayi in recent times,” one of the coalition leaders said. “He has turned around the fortune of Ogun West — a senator serving like a governor.”
The declaration also reaffirmed the group’s commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Security operatives from the Nigeria Police (mostly female officers) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ensured a seamless and well-coordinated event.
Music legend Alhaji Sefiu Alao delivered a breathtaking performance, thrilling guests with sonorous Fuji rhythms that kept the hall buzzing until the close of proceedings.
Flying in from the United States specifically for the event, the founder and statewide president of Adorable Sisters, Chief (Mrs) Ramat Ashabi Sodolamu, delivered a powerful keynote address that further energized the gathering.
During her address to the cheering members of the group and guests, Sodolamu said; “Today, we gather to make a public declaration for the betterment of our dear Ogun State. The decisions we make now will shape our future for generations to come.”
“Our reason for being here is simple — to declare our unwavering support for an extraordinary individual who has been a champion for our state: Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi.”
“We have studied his political journey from the Lagos House of Assembly to the National Assembly. His achievements speak volumes. His kindness, humility, empowerment programs, and open-door policy remain unmatched in the history of legislative representation.”

Sodolamu also extended appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun, saying, “We appreciate His Excellency Governor Dapo Abiodun for the remarkable work he is doing and for creating a conducive environment for Senator Yayi to thrive.”
Also speaking on President Tinubu, she stated that, “We urge our members to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because he means well for Nigeria. He is on a difficult but necessary mission of rebuilding this country.”
