Otunba Gbenga Daniel (OGD), Senator representing Ogun East and former Governor of Ogun State, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Segun Awolowo Jnr, grandson of the late statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

In a heartfelt condolence message, Senator Daniel said he received the news of Awolowo’s death with profound sadness, describing him as a “brother, friend, and a worthy heir to the Awolowo legacy.”

He noted that the loss is not only heartbreaking for the Awolowo family but also for the people of Ogun State and Nigeria at large. According to him, Segun Awolowo Jnr lived a life marked by grace, service, and unwavering dedication to national development.

“Segun carried the Awolowo legacy with dignity and excellence. His calm intellect, refined disposition, and patriotic spirit will be dearly missed,” Senator Daniel stated.

He added that the moment is particularly difficult for many who shared a close bond with the deceased, emphasizing that no words can sufficiently ease the grief caused by his passing.
