The Chairman of Egbe–Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Idris Balogun, has issued a formal query to the Onisheri of Isheri Olofin, Oba Ibrahim O. Lawal-Bello, directing the traditional ruler to respond within 24 hours over allegations linked to a recent disturbance in the community.
In a letter signed by the council chairman, the monarch was asked to clarify his alleged involvement in the deployment of hoodlums and cultists, who were said to have unleashed mayhem on Oladun Street, Isheri Olofin, during the unrest.
According to the council, the query was issued in line with due process, and the traditional ruler is expected to provide a detailed explanation of his role, if any, in the incident within the stipulated timeframe.
Balogun emphasised that the move was strictly administrative and procedural, stressing that it was not prejudicial but aimed at ensuring clarity, accountability and peaceful coexistence within the community.
He further appealed to residents and stakeholders to remain calm, assuring them that the matter would be handled with responsibility and fairness.
The chairman reaffirmed the council’s commitment to peace, security and sustainable development in Egbe–Idimu LCDA, noting that no individual or institution is above scrutiny where public safety is concerned.
