The Owo Area Commander of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Farouk Olujimi Raheem, psc, has called on residents of Owo town, Ondo State, to embrace the joy of Christmas while conducting themselves responsibly throughout the festive period.
The senior police officer made the appeal in a goodwill message issued ahead of the 2025 Christmas celebration, encouraging residents to fully enjoy the season but avoid acts capable of disrupting public peace and security.
According to ACP Raheem, Christmas is a period meant for love, unity, and merriment, and not an excuse for criminal behaviour or social disorder.
“The Owo Area Command encourages everyone to celebrate Christmas with merriment and to shun crime, for that is the true meaning of the season,” he said.
He further advised residents to celebrate in moderation and remain law-abiding, stressing that security personnel have been mobilised to ensure the safety of lives and property across the area.
In a brief caution delivered in Yoruba, the Area Commander added, “Gẹ́dé wa a ṣà mọ́dùn ooo.”
ACP Raheem urged community leaders, youths, and parents to support security agencies by discouraging reckless behaviour and cooperating with law enforcement to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Christmas in Owo.
