President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to religious freedom, national unity, and the protection of all Nigerians, irrespective of faith, as Christians across the country celebrated Christmas 2025.

In his Christmas goodwill message issued on Wednesday, the president said the season presents an opportunity for deep reflection on the birth of Jesus Christ and His enduring message of peace, hope, love, and goodwill, values he described as essential to Nigeria’s stability and coexistence.

According to Tinubu, Christmas transcends festivities, serving as a powerful reminder of Christ’s role as the Prince of Peace, especially in a nation marked by religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity.

“I remain committed to doing everything within my power to enshrine religious freedom in Nigeria and to protect all people of different faiths from violence,” the president declared.
“No one, regardless of ethnicity or belief, should be made to suffer for professing and practising their faith.”

He stressed that love for God and humanity remains a shared foundation of all major religions, urging Nigerians to draw strength from these common values.

“We honour those who, following the example of Jesus, work tirelessly to uplift the less fortunate and promote harmony in society,” he added.
