Radio Lagos and Eko FM emerge top winners at the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards, clinching six honours across news, production and on-air excellence

Radio Lagos, Eko FM Dominate Nigeria Broadcasting Awards with six major wins

Radio Lagos and Eko FM have reaffirmed their dominance in Nigeria’s broadcasting space, clinching six prestigious honours at the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards (TNBA) organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON).

The two Lagos-based stations stood out among 248 entries, earning recognition for excellence in news delivery, programming, professionalism and dedication to public service. Their performance further cements their reputation as leaders in Nigeria’s competitive radio broadcasting landscape.

The awards spanned multiple categories, including Radio Station of the Year, Best Radio Station – News (English Language), and Best Radio Station – News (Indigenous Language). The stations also secured wins for Best Radio Station – Original Production across Business, Drama and Sports in both English and Indigenous Language categories.

Individual brilliance was equally celebrated, with Gbenga Alli-Balogun named Newscaster of the Year, while Titi Adeaga earned the Reporter of the Year award.

Receiving the honours on behalf of the stations, the General Manager of Radio Lagos/Eko FM, Jide Lawal, expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition.

He said the awards would inspire the team to sustain their high standards, noting that they would “continue to work hard to sustain the tempo of excellence and professionalism the stations are known for.”

Lawal also praised Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for his vision and support, stating that his leadership played a key role in the stations’ success. He dedicated the awards to the governor, while also acknowledging the commitment of staff and the loyalty of listeners.

With six awards now to their credit, Eko FM and Radio Lagos have set a new benchmark in Nigerian broadcasting, reinforcing their status as trusted voices and standard-bearers in the industry.
