No Apologies for Supporting Tinubu, Kebbi Governor Idris Declares Amid 2027 Endorsements

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his anticipated bid for a second term in office, insisting he has no regrets about publicly backing the President.

The governor made the declaration on Wednesday during an event organised by the Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO) in Birnin Kebbi, where endorsements were also secured for both President Tinubu and Governor Idris ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Responding to critics who questioned his prominent role in campaigning for the President, Idris said such comments reflected a lack of understanding of the realities and developmental strides taking place in Kebbi State.

“I saw a clip last week questioning why Governor Idris should be at the forefront of supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said. “The person who made the statement is not from Kebbi State and does not understand what is happening here.”

The governor maintained that President Tinubu has demonstrated a strong commitment to Kebbi State through the execution of key federal projects and development initiatives.

According to him, the ongoing projects across the state are evidence of the President’s dedication to improving the welfare of Kebbi residents and strengthening infrastructure.

“That is why we are enjoying federal projects today. The essence of democracy is to bring the dividends of governance directly to the people,” Idris stated.

He further described President Tinubu as his political leader and mentor, stressing that the people of Kebbi remain fully committed to supporting the President’s re-election ambition.

“Tinubu is my leader and mentor. We support him 100 per cent in Kebbi State,” the governor declared.

Idris also recalled a massive endorsement rally held at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi, where thousands of residents gathered to endorse President Tinubu for a second term.

He noted that Kebbi was among the first states in the country to openly rally support for the President’s 2027 ambition.

“Last year, thousands of Kebbi residents converged at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi to endorse President Tinubu for a second term in office. Kebbi was the first state to do so in Nigeria,” he said.

The governor added that his administration would continue to align with policies and initiatives aimed at advancing the development of Kebbi State and contributing to national progress.
