Controversial Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has stirred widespread reactions online after announcing the birth of his son with celebrity fashion designer and stylist, CEO Luminee.
The couple shared the news on social media on Monday, posting maternity photographs and introducing their newborn, King Kagar Omiyinka, to fans and followers.
In his announcement, Baba Ijesha expressed appreciation to his partner, describing her as his “strong Jagaban” and “Abikese de mi owo,” while Luminee referred to the actor as her “one in a million” with a “pure heart.”
However, the announcement quickly triggered debates online, largely because it comes approximately seven months after the actor’s release from prison on November 14, 2025.
Several social media users questioned the timeline of the pregnancy, with some wondering whether the conception occurred before or around his release. Others raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding the birth and reignited discussions about the actor’s past conviction.
One user, Oyindamola, asked whether conjugal visits were permitted in prison, noting that less than nine months had passed since Baba Ijesha regained his freedom. Another, Deyola_a, expressed shock at the revelation that the actor had become a father again.
Critics also questioned Luminee’s decision to start a family with the actor, citing his 2021 conviction for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old foster child. Some argued that the development sends the wrong message, while others insisted that redemption and second chances should not be denied.
