Alleged Attack on Ondo Assembly Aspirant Foluke Daramola’s Residence Sparks Security Concerns

An alleged attack on the residence of Ms. Foluke Olayemi Daramola, a leading Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) aspirant for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Akure South Constituency I, has raised fresh concerns over the safety of political actors ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at her residence located at No. 35, Abiodun Junction, Oke-Aro, Akure, Ondo State.

According to available information, about 30 suspected hoodlums, allegedly armed with cutlasses, firearms and other dangerous weapons, stormed the property in what was described as an apparent attempt to attack the aspirant. Ms. Daramola was said to be away from the residence at the time of the incident and was therefore unharmed.

During the attack, the assailants allegedly vandalised parts of the property, including the entrance gate, campaign vehicles and several campaign posters. The incident reportedly caused panic among residents of the neighbourhood and temporarily disrupted public peace.

Eyewitnesses and residents in the area said they saw the armed men force their way into the premises, destroy property and flee before security operatives arrived. The development has heightened concerns about the security of political stakeholders as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
