Nigerians Can Now Pay for International Flights in Instalments as FCMB, 247 Travels Partner
First City Monument Bank (FCMB), in partnership with 247 Travels, has introduced the Book Now, Fly Later programme, enabling eligible customers to access up to ₦10 million to finance international flight tickets and repay the loan over a period of three to nine months.
The initiative is aimed at helping Nigerians spread the cost of international travel for business, education, healthcare, tourism and family-related trips.
According to a statement issued by the partners on Monday, the financing facility is powered by FCMB Premium Banking and is available exclusively for airline tickets booked through 247 Travels.
Eligible FCMB customers, including salaried and self-employed individuals who meet the bank’s lending requirements, can apply for the facility. Successful applicants are expected to receive loan approval and disbursement within 24 working hours.
The partnership combines FCMB’s lending services with 247 Travels’ flight booking platform, allowing customers to secure international tickets while paying in instalments.
Speaking on the launch, FCMB Managing Director, Yemisi Edun, said the product was created to make travel financing more accessible and convenient.
She noted that the programme reflects the bank’s commitment to helping customers achieve their personal and professional goals without unnecessary financial pressure.
Edun added that FCMB would continue to introduce innovative financial solutions and strategic partnerships that simplify banking and create value for customers.
Also commenting, the Managing Director of 247 Travels, Tunji Adeyemi, said the initiative addresses the challenge many travellers face in paying the full cost of international flight tickets upfront.
He explained that the partnership allows customers to book flights immediately while spreading payments over time, offering greater flexibility and convenience.
FCMB’s Group Head of Premium Banking, Opeyemi Makinwa, described the programme as part of the bank’s efforts to expand lifestyle-focused financial solutions that provide customers with improved financial control.
Customers can apply for the facility through FCMB’s Book Now, Fly Later platform or via the 247 Travels website by selecting their preferred flight and submitting a financing request. Once the loan is approved, the funds are disbursed and the ticket is issued through 247 Travels.
The initiative expands the Book Now, Fly Later financing model to international air travel, providing Nigerians with an alternative way to fund both personal and business trips.
