Former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has filed a N500 million defamation lawsuit against content creators Carter Efe and Davrel following allegations made against her during a heated social media dispute.
The legal action stems from an online exchange that began after Davrel, an associate of Nigerian music star Davido, allegedly claimed that Carter Efe described Phyna as being “of no benefit.”
In response, Phyna accused Davrel of failing to pay a cameraman she had introduced to him, sparking a war of words between both parties.
The controversy escalated when Davrel accused the reality TV star of making sexual advances towards him and requesting an introduction to his father. Phyna strongly denied the allegations.
During a subsequent social media livestream, Carter Efe also alleged that he had been intimate with Phyna, claiming he could provide evidence to support his statement.
Reacting to the accusations, Phyna warned both Carter Efe and Davrel that they would face legal action.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session on Thursday, the reality TV star apologised to her fans for how she had handled previous online confrontations, admitting that responding publicly had often shifted attention away from the real issues.
She said the latest incident had convinced her to stop addressing such controversies on social media and instead pursue legal remedies.
“Since I started streaming, I tried to stream the way everybody streams, but it has brought a lot of disrespect to me. This has to be the last time I will be disrespected like that,” she said.
Phyna also confirmed that legal notices had been served on both individuals.
“So, Carter Efe and Davrel, check your emails and WhatsApp. You’ve been served,” she stated.
Carter Efe later acknowledged receiving the legal documents in a video, confirming that Phyna is seeking N500 million in damages.
As of the time of reporting, neither Carter Efe nor Davrel has publicly provided evidence to substantiate the allegations made against the reality TV star. The case is expected to proceed through the legal process.
