Omotayo Sanusi, the former wife of Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo, has dismissed long-standing rumours linking actresses Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele to the collapse of her marriage.
Speaking in a statement shared on her Instagram page, Omotayo said she was compelled to address the issue after repeated false narratives about her personal life continued to circulate online and were being treated as facts.
She specifically denied claims that Toyin Abraham informed her of an alleged romantic relationship between Femi Adebayo and another actress during the production of a movie.
According to her, the story is entirely false and does not reflect what happened.
Omotayo also rejected allegations that she confronted, harassed, assaulted or attacked anyone on a movie set, insisting that no such incident ever occurred.
She explained that she was actively involved throughout the film production referenced in the rumours, working behind the scenes with her team to provide catering and welfare services for more than 500 cast and crew members over a filming period of more than one month.
Challenging the allegations, Omotayo urged anyone who genuinely believed they had been harassed by her to publicly present evidence.
She said her prolonged silence was a conscious decision made out of respect for everyone involved and a desire to avoid unnecessary public controversy.
However, she stressed that her silence should never be interpreted as an admission that the allegations were true.
The former couple’s marriage and eventual separation have remained a subject of public speculation for years, with several unverified claims circulating across social media.
With her latest statement, Omotayo seeks to set the record straight, distancing both Toyin Abraham and Funke Akindele from the rumours while urging the public to refrain from spreading unverified information capable of damaging reputations.
The development has reignited conversations about the effect of social media speculation on the private lives of celebrities in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
