Ogun 2027: Gbolahan Dada Mobilises Otta for Yayi’s APC Campaign
Former Ogun West senator, Gbolahan Dada, has rallied supporters and All Progressives Congress stakeholders in Otta ahead of the visit of the party’s 2027 governorship candidate, Olamilekan Solomon, popularly known as Yayi.
Yayi is expected in Otta on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as part of his grassroots engagement and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
Dada, who represented Ogun West in the Senate between 2015 and 2019, said the visit would go beyond a conventional campaign appearance, describing it as an opportunity for the APC candidate to connect directly with the people and strengthen the party’s grassroots structure.
In a welcome message to Yayi and the APC family ahead of the rally, Dada said Otta was receiving the governorship candidate with “open arms, goodwill and a renewed spirit of unity.”
“Your arrival in Otta is more than a campaign visit. It is a meeting with a people whose hearts are firmly connected to the Ogun West Agenda and whose aspirations are deeply tied to the continued development, peace and prosperity of Ogun State,” he said.
Dada described Otta as a community with a strong tradition of enterprise, industry, culture and political consciousness, saying its residents understood the importance of effective representation and responsible leadership.
He said the visit would provide Yayi with an opportunity to engage political leaders, party members, youths, women, elders and other grassroots stakeholders as the APC begins to intensify its mobilisation for the 2027 election.
The former senator urged party supporters to embrace the visit as a demonstration of unity and commitment to the APC’s political project.
“For Senator Yayi, Otta welcomes you. Ogun State awaits you. May God Almighty guide your steps, strengthen your resolve and crown your efforts with success,” Dada said.
He expressed optimism that the visit would mark the beginning of a successful political journey for Yayi, using the phrase “from Otta to Oké-Mosàn” to symbolise the journey from grassroots mobilisation to the Ogun State Government House.
“Our prayer is simple: may your footsteps in Otta today become the footprints of a governor tomorrow,” he said.
Dada also commended APC leaders, stakeholders and supporters in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government for their efforts in mobilising residents ahead of the candidate’s arrival.
He said the growing mobilisation demonstrated the willingness of party members to work together towards the APC’s electoral objective.
The reception is expected to draw APC leaders, political stakeholders, community members and supporters from Otta, Ado-Odo/Ota and the wider Ogun West political district.
Dada said the gathering should not merely be viewed as a campaign rally but as an opportunity to renew the connection between the party and the grassroots.
“Let it be a celebration of unity, hope and the shared dream of a greater Ogun State,” he said.
With preparations gathering momentum ahead of Wednesday’s visit, Dada declared: “Otta is ready. Otta is expectant.”
He added that the community was opening its doors to Yayi and extending “a hand of friendship” as the APC candidate takes his campaign message to the grassroots.
“May this visit truly become the first decisive march from Otta to Oké-Mosàn—and from aspiration to victory,” Dada said.
