From Grassroots to Campaign Council: A.G.O. Gets Congrats on New APC Assignment

Lagos APC Appoints Ajala Ganiyu Olawale as Contact and Mobilisation Secretary

The Chief Executive Officer of The City Pulse, Ayo Mojoyin, has congratulated Barrister Ajala Ganiyu Olawale, popularly known as A.G.O., on his appointment as Secretary of the Directorate of Contact and Mobilisation in the Lagos State APC Campaign Council.

Mojoyin described the appointment as recognition of Ajala’s long-standing dedication, political experience and commitment to party organisation and public service. The message was issued through the Media Directorate of the Asiwaju Mobilization Group (AMG).

The appointment comes as the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress formally activates its campaign structures ahead of the 2027 general elections. The party recently inaugurated a campaign council of more than 1,200 members, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman, Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Chairman, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro as Director-General and Rasaq Ajala as Deputy Director-General.

Ajala’s new role places him in the Contact and Mobilisation Directorate, a key unit expected to drive engagement with party members, stakeholders and grassroots structures across the state.

A lawyer and political organiser whose activities date back to the early 1990s, Ajala participated in the Hope ’93 presidential campaign and later held positions in successive progressive parties, including the Action Congress and the APC. He previously served as Financial Secretary and Legal Adviser at local party levels before his appointment as APC Organising Secretary in 2022.

He holds degrees in political and public administration as well as law, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2017, obtained an LL.M, and is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Constitutional Law. His public-service record includes roles as Chairman of the Revenue Committee in Ojodu LCDA, External Solicitor on Revenue Recovery for Ikeja Local Government, Special Adviser on Youth and Sports Development under Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, and Senior Legislative Aide to former House of Representatives Speaker Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

Ajala’s political base remains strongly rooted in the Ikeja/Ojodu axis. Earlier in 2026 he declared interest in representing Ikeja Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly and engaged stakeholders across the constituency. In May 2026, an A.G.O.-led movement organised an endorsement convergence in Ikeja in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In his congratulatory message, Mojoyin expressed confidence that Ajala’s experience in political organisation, stakeholder engagement and grassroots mobilisation would strengthen the campaign council’s work. He concluded with the words: “Greater responsibilities. Bigger impact. A stronger Lagos.”

The appointment marks another chapter in a political career spanning more than three decades as the Lagos APC consolidates its machinery for the 2027 electoral cycle.
