Billionaire industrialist and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu on Friday in the company of his son, Isyaku Abdulsamad Khalifa, to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day.

In posts shared on his X account, Rabiu described the meeting as an honour and used the occasion to convey warm greetings to the President.

“Honoured to once again visit His Excellency, the President, with Khalifa, and to extend our warm wishes on the occasion of Nigeria’s Independence Day,” he wrote.

Rabiu noted that the visit offered a moment to reflect on the nation’s progress while looking ahead with optimism. “It is always a pleasure to share such moments as we reflect on our nation’s journey and look forward with hope to the future,” he added.

He also extended Independence Day greetings to Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora: “Wishing all Nigerians, at home and abroad, a very Happy Independence Day. May our beloved country continue to enjoy peace, unity, progress and prosperity.”

Nigeria attained independence from British colonial rule on 1 October 1960. The country is observing its 66th Independence anniversary in 2026, with 1 October celebrated annually as a public holiday.
