Brown Cyberspace Academy Graduates 15 Students at Maiden Convocation
Brown Cyberspace Academy has graduated 15 students with certificates and diplomas in various Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and cyberspace programmes at its maiden convocation ceremony in Ogun State.
The historic ceremony, held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the institution’s Main Hall on Idiroko Road, Iyana-Iyesi, Ota, also featured the recognition of two staff members for their outstanding contributions to the growth of the academy.
The founder of the institution, Prince Olu Akinlabi, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsheadline247 on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
Akinlabi described the maiden convocation as a significant milestone in the academy’s journey, reaffirming its commitment to developing digital skills, empowering young people and bridging Nigeria’s digital divide.
In his welcome address, Akinlabi congratulated the graduands on their achievements, commending their dedication, resilience and commitment throughout their academic programmes.
He said the academy was established to produce job-ready digital professionals equipped with the practical skills and knowledge required to compete effectively in the global digital economy.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of Awards of Excellence to two staff members in recognition of their dedication and exceptional contributions to the institution.
The award recipients were Engr. Timileyin Johnson Kehinde and Engr. Jacob A. Oluwasanmi.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their technical and creative abilities, with two outstanding digital projects selected from the entries submitted by the graduands showcased to guests.
The projects, titled “Donor Plus” and “Eko Expo”, were presented by Divine Aborisade and David Olorunsola, respectively.
Commenting on the projects, the special guest at the ceremony, Professor Ben Ezeohagwu, said both innovations had the potential to be adapted across virtually all sectors of human endeavour.

He noted that the projects could enhance productivity while requiring minimal supervision wherever they were deployed.
Akinlabi said the successful completion of the maiden convocation marked the beginning of a new chapter for Brown Cyberspace Academy as it continued its mission of preparing young Nigerians for opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
The event ended with celebrations, group photographs and renewed optimism about the future of the graduands and the academy’s contribution to digital skills development in Nigeria.
Akinlabi congratulated the 2026 graduating class, expressing confidence that the graduands would put their acquired knowledge and skills to productive use.
