In a powerful tribute to a revered monarch, His Excellency, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, FNSE, FAEng, today joined thousands of dignitaries, royal fathers, political leaders, and the people of Ijebuland at the 8th Day Fidau Prayer held in honor of the late Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON — the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.

The solemn yet majestic event took place at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode, a location befitting the stature of the late monarch whose reign spanned over six decades of fearless leadership, cultural preservation, and national impact.

In his remarks, Senator Daniel described the late Oba Adetona as “more than a traditional ruler; he was a moral compass, and a symbol of courage in a time when many bowed to pressure.”

The event featured Qur’anic recitations, Islamic prayers led by top clerics, and tributes from eminent Nigerians who spoke on the virtues, legacy, and nation-building contributions of the late Awujale.
