Mercy and Kazim have cleared the air insisting that they were never friends as they only met at Kazim’s 40th birthday party
Nollywood star actress, Mercy Aigbe, and her new husband, Kazim ‘Adekaz’ Adeoti, are currently battling with allegations of betrayal trailing their romance.
The two lovebirds have rebuked claims that Kazim was once a friend of Mercy’s ex-husband, Lanre Gentry.
They also claimed Mercy and Kazim’s ex-wife, Funsho Adeoti were never friends.
The assertion that the two men were friends emerged just after Mercy and Kazim made the relationship public earlier in the week.
Adekaz and Mercy who have been keeping their romantic union under wraps have been together for a while.
Shortly after the new couple made their love tale public, Mercy’s ex-husband Lanre Gentry who had since remarried, took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of him and Mercy as a married couple posing with Kazim Adeoti and his estranged wife, Funsho Adeoti.
“At last I thank God the truth is out this is just one out of many to God be the glory. I don’t need anyone’s comment please”, Gentry captioned the photo.
Gentry’s remark further led to the assertion that Mercy was already involved in an illicit affair with her ex-husband’s supposed friend who was also married at the time.
But Mercy and Kazim have cleared the air insisting that they were never friends as they only met at Kazim’s 40th birthday party.
The Nollywood actress affirmed that she was invited to the party with other actors.
Mercy, speaking of the picture Lanre Gentry posted, said she and her former husband only posed for a picture with the celebrant and his wife just like other people did.
According to her, it was only after Mercy and Gentry separated that they became an item. Kazim and Funsho had also been separated years before he started dating Mercy.
