Ado-Odo/Ota Projects Ready for Commissioning as Lawal Inspects Sites

The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, has inspected major projects across the council area ahead of their official commissioning on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Lawal, accompanied by members of the local government management team, visited project sites in Ado-Odo, Ere, Alapoti, Igbesa and Agbara, where he expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work.
The council’s Chief Information and Public Relations Officer, Alabi Sheriff, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsheadline247 on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
According to the statement, the inspection was carried out to ensure that all facilities were in perfect condition ahead of the commissioning ceremony.
Among the projects scheduled for commissioning are renovated blocks of two and four classrooms with offices at Ere and Igbesa respectively; a newly procured, installed and energised 300KVA/33KV transformer with low-tension cable distribution at Inawole-Idosaba in Alapoti Ward; and two motorised solar-powered boreholes in Ado-Odo and Agbara.
The commissioning ceremony will be performed on behalf of the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Ganiyu Hamzat.
The Lawal-led administration said it has also recorded several other infrastructure achievements across the council in 2026, including the grading of rural roads with laterite across the 16 wards, construction of culverts and drainage systems, provision of furniture for public primary schools, renovation of classrooms and the local government poultry pen, and construction of additional motorised solar-powered boreholes.
Other projects include the laying of asphalt and beautification of the Executive Chairman’s Office premises, as well as drainage works along the Odo-Salawa-Igbale-Akimbo-Okede Road and the Igbale-Okede Road.
Speaking during the inspection, Lawal reiterated that the projects were part of his administration’s efforts to complement the ISEYA Agenda of Governor Dapo Abiodun and deliver what he described as genuine dividends of democracy to residents at the grassroots.
He invited traditional rulers, Baales, Community Development Associations, market leaders, political leaders and members, religious organisations, youth and women groups, as well as residents across Ado-Odo/Ota, to attend the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday.
The projects are expected to further strengthen basic infrastructure and public services across several communities in the local government as the council prepares to formally commission the completed facilities.
