A member of the House of Representatives, hon. Jimoh Ojugbele, representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, gave succour to owners of houses damaged due to rainstorms by donating cash for repairs.
Some houses were heavily affected on Awolowo way and Asore areas of Ota following a recent heavy downpour.
Some of those who could not afford immediate repair have been squatting and living uncomfortably.
Ojugbele, currently a three-term member of the federal lawmakers, came to their rescue by doling out cash to the affected individuals for immediate repair.
Some of those who benefited from his widow’s mite include Mrs Omitogun Tajudeen of Awolowo Way and Mrs Opeyemi Ajoke of the Asore area both in Ota. The duo got one hundred and fifty thousand naira (N150,000) cash as gifts to restore the damaged areas of their respective buildings.
Ojugbele’s constituency aide, Yomi Olojeloju, presented the money to the beneficiaries on behalf of his principal.
According to Mr Olojeloju, the gifts were some of the many silent supports being rendered frequently by the lawmaker to vulnerable members of his constituency.
“We believed the beneficiaries will make use of this selfless gesture adequately and move back to their respective homes to continue their normal lives,” Olojeloju said.
