Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun has reacted to his suspension by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) describing it as a distraction.

The Ogun state outgoing governor was suspended last week for alleged “anti-party activities”.

Amosun had openly declared to support a governorship candidate from another party against his own party, APC.

The candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Adekunle Akinlade is governors Amosun’s preferred candidate.

Speaking with reporters on Sunday at the State House in Abuja, the Governor, who is now a Senator-elect under the platform of the APC, declined further comments on his suspension.

“For now, I will not talk on the suspension issue because I have learnt in life that when you are pursuing a goal, your eyes should be on the ball and not on the spectators.

“If you take your eyes off the ball, you will miss the goal,” Amosun said.

He also used the opportunity to thank the people of Ogun Central senatorial district, for voting for him to emerge Senator.
