The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld the suspension of four senior officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu.

Others affected by the ruling are the party’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade; Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; and National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature.

In its judgment on Monday, the appellate court affirmed the earlier decision of the Federal High Court delivered by James Omotosho, which supported the disciplinary action taken against the officials.

The suspensions were initially announced by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) on November 1, 2025.

The Court of Appeal also upheld the October 31, 2025 judgment of the Abuja Federal High Court restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the outcome of the PDP’s 2025 national convention.
