The Association of EX-Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ASELGON) has congratulated the Governor of Plateau State, Hon Caleb Mutfwang on his victory at the State Election Petition Tribunal.

In a release signed by its National President, Hon Albert Asipa, ASELGON said the judgement has not only proven that the Governor garnered overwhelming votes from the people of Plateau State during the March 2023 election, it also confirmed that the people freely elected Governor Mutfwang to lead the State to the next level of growth and development.

While assuring that Governor Mutfwang would deliver on all his campaign promises based on his deep grassroot experience and creditable performance as an ex-local government chairman, as well as his broad experience as a seasoned administrator.

“It is noteworthy to identify with the good people of Plateau State for having Hon Mutfwang as a Governor at this auspicious time”, ASELGON said in the statement.

In another development, the association has advised residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to support the former Governor of Rivers State, now Minister of FCT, Barr Nyesom Wike in his efforts to restore the lost glory of the Territory.

The association noted that the steps being taken by the Minister are genuine and on course to reposition the FCT in line with the dream of its founding fathers.

Citing the Minister’s giant strides so far in office, the association said it’s noteworthy that within two weeks, the ministry under Barrister Wike raked in N1.9b as part of debt owned the FCTA, with deadlines set for completion of different landmark projects.

The umbrella body of the former local government chairmen across the 774 LGAs said it has put machinery in motion to liaise with her FCT Chapter on modalities to educate the residents on the activities of the minister.
