ATPN President, Prince Adetunji Fadina Activates Oyo State Chapter, Inducts New Members, Honorees

Ibadan, Nigeria –6 February 2025– The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) has marked another historic milestone with the official activation of its Oyo State Chapter, under the leadership of newly appointed State Chapter Chairman, Kolawole Lawal. This event, held in Ibadan, underscores ATPN’s commitment to strengthening tourism development across Nigeria and fostering a new generation of industry leaders.

The ATPN President, Prince Adetunji Fadina, formally inducted new members and conferred Honorary Fellowships on distinguished individuals, including Hon. Wasiu Adewale Olatubosun, the Honorable Commissioner of Tourism in Oyo State, and Professor Kassim Adebiyi, a renowned academic leader.

A Commitment to Youth, Creativity, and Cultural Development

Speaking at the event, Prince Adetunji Fadina emphasized ATPN’s vision for youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and the development of innovative tourism products. The South-West Vice President of ATPN, Samson Apata, was commended for his unwavering dedication to expanding the association’s reach. Reflecting on ATPN’s journey, Prince Fadina expressed delight at seeing the fruits of their labor, tracing back to World Tourism Day 2016 in Ota, when efforts to strengthen ATPN’s regional presence began.

“The journey has not been easy. The beginning can be stormy and challenging, but the future is bright,” he stated. “I see a new generation of trailblazing tourism practitioners who will redefine the industry, set global standards, and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s GDP through tourism by 2026.”

Expanding Nationwide: A New Era for ATPN

With the Oyo State Chapter now officially activated, ATPN is poised to extend its footprint across the country, with plans to launch chapters in the South-East, South-South, North-East, and North-West regions.

Prince Fadina reaffirmed his commitment to visiting and celebrating with upcoming chapters and urged the National Executive Team to continue driving ATPN’s mission forward.

“We are building an association like no other—one focused on Quality Membership, Capacity Building, and Collaboration. Our goal is to develop a pool of young tourism innovators and cultural icons who will set new global benchmarks for destination development.”
