The Blue Line Phase 2 project will include six stations – Festac, Alakija, Trade Fair, Volkswagen, LASU, and Okokomaiko

The Director of Rail Transport for the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (LAMATA), Mr Olasukanmi Okusaga, announced on Tuesday that the construction of the Blue Line Phase 2 project in Lagos may be extended to Agbara in Ogun State.

He revealed that the Lagos State Government is currently in negotiations with Ogun State Government to take the Blue Rail Line beyond Lagos, to Agbara.

During an inspection of the ongoing construction of the second phase of the blue line, Okusaga expressed his satisfaction with the progress achieved so far.

He explained that the project, which was awarded in 2023, is expected to be completed in three years.

Mr Okusaga said; “The Blue Line Phase 2 project will include six stations (Festac, Alakija, Trade Fair, Volkswagen, LASU, and Okokomaiko) and three bridges in Maza Maza, Satellite town, and LASU.”

He added that this phase will cover a distance of 14 kilometers.
