Coronavirus: Nigeria cases top 600 as NCDC declares 86 new COVID-19 patients – 70 in Lagos

As of 11:58 pm on April 18, the total number of those tested in Nigeria is 7,153 out of which there are 627 confirmed cases with 436 active cases, 170 recoveries and 21 deaths.

The total number of confirmed infections in Nigeria has risen from 541 to 627 as The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 86 fresh coronavirus cases in the country.

NCDC gave the update on its Twitter handle on Sunday. It also said the total number of fatalities recorded from the virus in Nigeria increased from 19 to 21.

“Eighty-six new cases of #COVID19 have been reported: 70 in Lagos, 7 in FCT, 3 in Katsina, 3 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Jigawa, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Borno. “As of 11:50 pm on the 19th of April, there are 627 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 170; Deaths: 21,” the tweet read.

The disease has now spread to 21 states and the nation’s capital. Below is a breakdown of the cases in each of the states:
