3 of the 4 confirmed cases emerged from Ado-Odo/Ota LGA, while 1 was recorded in Ikenne LGA.

The Ogun State government has announced 4 new confirmed COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of patients in the state to 24.

This was announced in the state’s weekly update via its official twitter handle on Thursday.

According to the tweet post, 3 of the 4 confirmed cases emerged from Ado-Odo/Ota LGA, while 1 was recorded in Ikenne LGA.

It was further stated that Close contacts of all 4 cases already identified are being observed in one of the State’s Isolation Centres.

The state, so far, has recorded confirmed cases in 9 of its 20 local government areas.

The post reads, “4 New Confirmed Cases, 6 Discharged, 24 Total As at 11:25pm, 22nd April, 2020, the NCDC announced 4 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ogun State. This brings to total, 24 confirmed cases in the State at the time.

“Of the 4 confirmed cases, 3 emerged from Ado-Odo/Ota LGA, while 1 was recorded in Ikenne LGA. Close contacts of all 4 cases already identified are being observed in one of the State’s Isolation Centres, while tracing is ongoing to identify and quarantine all possible contacts.

“So far, the LGAs where cases have been confirmed and contacts identified remain 9. The LGAs include Ipokia, Sagamu, Ewekoro, Ikenne, Yewa South, Ado-Odo/Ota, Obafemi Owode, Odogbolu, and Imeko Afon.”
