Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, on Thursday, announced that forty health workers tested positive for the coronavirus in the country.

Ehanire disclosed this during the presidential task force briefing on Thursday.

The minister, in his address, appealed to all frontline workers to always protect themselves while on duty, particularly, while treating patients.

“Forty health workers in Nigeria have tested positive to COVID-19, he said.

“We advise medical workers in the frontline of the COVID-19 fight to protect themselves carefully while giving treatment to infected patients,” Ehanire said.

Nigeria had on Wednesday confirmed 91 cases of Coronavirus, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 873.
