Mother of 12-year-old Anu accuses the Adeleke family of intimidation and abuse of power, denying claims of additional DNA tests in Davido paternity controversy

Davido Paternity Saga Deepens as Anu’s Mother Accuses Adeleke Family of Intimidation, Denies Fresh DNA Tests

The long-running paternity controversy involving Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a dramatic new turn, as the mother of 12-year-old Anu has accused the Adeleke family of intimidation, manipulation, and abuse of influence, while firmly denying claims that additional DNA tests were conducted in 2020.

In a strongly worded statement issued late Wednesday, the woman, whose identity is being protected, pushed back against recent public comments credited to Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, Davido’s father, describing several assertions as “false” and deeply distressing.

Central to her allegation is what she described as a shocking revelation involving her own sister, Titilayo Labinjoh, whom she claimed had been in contact with Dr. Adeleke since the COVID-19 pandemic.

“To my shock, my own sister Titi Labinjoh reportedly has been talking to Dr. Deji Adeleke since the pandemic. About what?” she asked.

She disclosed that Titilayo recently called their mother from Abuja, expressing fear over renewed media attention and complaints from colleagues at her workplace.

“Our mom told her to ignore it. What about Anu who has to endure everything?” she queried.

The mother said she was devastated by allegations circulating online suggesting that her sister may have received money from the Adeleke family, describing the situation as a painful betrayal within her household.

Quoting Matthew 10:36, she framed the controversy as one that has fractured family ties.

Addressing claims linking her to controversial blogger Kemi Olunloyo, she categorically denied collaborating with her to push any narrative.

“Dr. Kemi opened this page and took photos online, some she took with Anu and some I posted myself. She handed the page to us in 2019. I’m not a social media user and didn’t post for four years,” she said.

She explained that she only resumed posting in 2023 during Anu’s 10th birthday photoshoot, clarifying that she no longer lives in Ibadan and that Anu currently resides with her grandmother.

“I’m a trader by profession. I buy my goods from border countries. There was no time Titi told Dr. Kemi to stop posting about Anu. They don’t have each other’s contact and do not talk,” she added.

According to her, some of Anu’s videos shared online were independently posted by her mother, Mrs. Ropo Labinjoh, stressing that the family has had no direct communication with Olunloyo despite her continued public commentary.

Recalling earlier events, she noted that Olunloyo had publicly supported the family in 2018 and even held a press conference on their behalf during an earlier appeal.

In a direct message addressed to Dr. Adeleke, the mother questioned his public involvement in the matter.

“Sir, as the patriarch of the family, you should not be talking on David’s behalf. I’m not Sophia negotiating child support. Let David address me.”

She went further to accuse the Adeleke family of leveraging wealth and influence against her.

“Your power and money are being abused here. David is obviously a boy and not a man.”

In a particularly grave warning, she stated:

“If anything happens to me, my daughter, or my mom, the police should hold you responsible.”

On the contentious issue of DNA testing, she unequivocally denied claims that further tests were conducted after the initial process.

“Anu and I never met with you in 2020 for four additional DNA tests,” she declared.

She also dismissed any insinuation linking Anu to Davido’s cousin, B-Red, stating that she had not seen him since 2013.

“I have not seen B-Red since February 2013 when they dined at my place of work, GQ Club in Ibadan. Anu has never met B-Red.”

According to her, suspicions involving B-Red originated from questions raised by Olunloyo during an extensive interview, excerpts of which are now resurfacing online.

“She suspected I may have also slept with him. That interview is now floating around. Post the tests, sir,” she concluded.

The latest statement comes less than 24 hours after Dr. Adedeji Adeleke publicly addressed the controversy, explaining how the Adeleke family allegedly coordinated multiple DNA tests to determine whether Anuoluwapo is biologically related to Davido.

In that interview, Dr. Adeleke also detailed how the family first became aware of the child, citing documents, photographs, and correspondence said to link Davido to Anu’s mother—claims that prompted what he described as extensive DNA testing efforts to resolve the matter. Read More
