A former chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue (FIRS), Babatunde Fowler is presently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud, according to ireportnews.
Newsheadline247 understands that Fowler was invited Monday morning over an ongoing investigation involving Alpha Beta Consulting, a tax firm allegedly belonging to the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to reports, President Buhari had queried Fowler while in office as the FIRS chief.
The query which was hinged on poor revenue collections was reportedly signed by Buhari’s late Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
