The Ekiti state governorship petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has declared Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti as the winner of the state’s governorship election held last year.

Fayemi victory’s was challenged by Kolapo Olusola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Olusola had filed a petition, alleging that the election was troubled with irregularities and that Fayemi who ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) could not be declared the winner.

The tribunal, on Monday, unanimously struck out Olusola’s case and ruled that Fayemi is the duly elected governor of the Ekiti state.
