Fidelity Bank to Host Free Virtual Masterclass on Nigeria Tax Act 2025 for SMEs
Fidelity Bank Plc has announced plans to host a free virtual masterclass on the Nigeria Tax Act 2025 (NTA) as part of its ongoing commitment to equip small businesses with the knowledge they need to navigate upcoming tax reforms.
The session, scheduled for 10:00 am (Nigerian time) on Friday, 12 December 2025, will provide business owners and professionals with a clear breakdown of the major changes introduced by the new legislation and how they will impact income, operations, and compliance requirements beginning in 2026.
Participants will gain practical insights into avoiding penalties, adapting to evolving tax rules, and positioning their businesses for regulatory sustainability.
The Nigerian government enacted sweeping tax reforms on 26 June 2025, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed four major tax bills into law. The reforms—set to take effect on 1 January 2026—represent one of the most significant overhauls of Nigeria’s fiscal framework in decades. They aim to modernize tax administration, widen the tax base, strengthen revenue generation, and provide clearer guidelines for citizens, businesses, and government agencies.
Explaining the bank’s motivation for organizing the session, Osita Ede, Divisional Head, Product Development, Fidelity Bank Plc, said, “Our decision to host this masterclass reflects our commitment to empowering businesses with the right information ahead of the commencement of the new tax regime.
“Information is money and a well-informed business owner is already steps ahead in the race to success. This is why we are bringing experts to provide accurate details and demystify the tax act.”
