Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial District, chaired a high-level technical panel at the 34th Engineering Assembly of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), reaffirming his longstanding involvement in engineering and infrastructure development.

The former Ogun State governor presided over discussions in Abuja where leading engineering professionals, policymakers and industry experts examined innovative solutions, sustainable infrastructure and the future of engineering practice in Nigeria.

The annual assembly attracted senior government officials, political leaders and members of the engineering profession, including the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Regional Development Abubakar Momoh, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Kingsley Udeh, former Osun State Deputy Governor Senator Iyiola Omisore, Senator Patrick Ndubueze and other stakeholders.

During the event, COREN President, Prof. Sadiq Abubakar, and the Council’s Vice President and Chairman of the Main Organising Committee, Engr. Olu Ogunduyile, commended Daniel for what they described as his contributions to the engineering profession and national development.

The COREN leadership praised the senator’s commitment to advancing engineering standards and his support for policies aimed at strengthening infrastructure development and promoting professional excellence across the country.

Daniel, an engineer and former governor, has remained active in national conversations on infrastructure and public policy, with his role at this year’s assembly reflecting the confidence reposed in him by stakeholders within Nigeria’s engineering community.
