“There is no better place like the ancient City of Otta in the Country”
The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in charge of Zone 2, AIG Babatunde Johnson Kokumo, today, 15th November 2021, paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the revered royal father, the Olofin Apesin Olode and Olota of Otta, Awori Kingdom, His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege Ph.D MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA(Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode) at Ipeti Square, Enu Owa, Otta, Ogun State.
The Police boss, who is in charge of zone 2, covering both Lagos and Ogun Police Command, described his visit as ‘homecoming’, the distinguished Police boss equally declared that “there is no better place like the ancient City of Otta in the Country”.
He, however, appealed to all stakeholders (indigenes and residents) most especially, those at the corridors of power to give their best in preserving the great socio-economic potentials of the foremost Awori town. “Ota is my comfort home”, he concluded.
Also, AIG Kokumo presented a Plaque of Honour to His Majesty for his contribution and support to the Nigeria Police while he called other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate our Revered Royal Father in this regard.
The Ekerin of Otta, High Chief Bamgboye Osunlabu, who, on behalf of the distinguished members of Olota in Council, welcomed the AIG and his entire team to the Palace of the 21st Monarch of the ancient City of Otta, took the gathering back memory lane, highlighting numerous impacts of AIG Kokumo to the Kingdom.
Baba Ekerin, as fondly called, who doubles as Chairman, Yoruba Elders Council, described AIG Kokumo as a ‘complete man of the people with the enviable character’, and a ‘dedicated Police Officer who has never betrayed the trust of the common people. He concluded by wishing him a successful stay in office.
Our most revered royal father, the Olota of Otta, in his remark, thanked the ever gallant AIG for the courtesy visit, and for being a kind-hearted Police Officer, who has chosen to be professional while on duty without any bias.
Alayeluwa equally sympathized with the AIG on the death of his beloved mother, who breathed her last on Friday, 12th November 2021. “May Almighty God give you and the entire family members the strength and courage to bear the loss”
Kabiyesi Olota further assured the Nigeria Police of continuous support of the good people of the cosmopolitan city of Otta and its environs in our collective bid to have a secured and prosperous society.
