A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja has rejected an application for bail by Maryam Sanda who allegedly killed her husband, son of former Peoples Democratic Party chairman, Haliru Bello.
Haliru Bello’s daughter-in-law, Maryam Sanda, is facing trial on allegations of homicide for the alleged killing of her husband, Bilyamin Bello.
This is the second attempt of a plea for bail by detained Maryam Sanda who claims she is three-month-old pregnant.
A previous request for bail in December made by Mrs Sanda’s lawyer, Joseph Daudu was refused.
Mr Daudu made another request on Monday but the judge, Halilu Halilu, struck out the application on Wednesday, for lacking in merit.
In November 2017, reports filled the air on how Maryam Sanda allegedly killed her husband on a Saturday night, stabbing him several times.
Multiple reports online said she attacked her husband based on allegations of infidelity after seeing a text message on his phone.
Maryam was said to have stabbed Bello, who would have clocked 36 on November 23, thrice in the back. After stabbing him, she drove him to the hospital for treatment but he did not survive the attack.
